Beach House Weekend Feb 14-17 2014

Friday 14, 2014

What a great way to celebrate V Day - Beach house weekend plus one!  Kat was off work at 4:00, home by 4:30 and we were packed and out the door by five.  Our first road trip in the C Max.  This was the first time we have ever traveled with Freddy where he was comfortable, relaxed and not filled with angst, wow, the car is worth the price just for that!

The drive passed by without incident, stress or issue and we arrived to find Neil and Carol already ensconced in beach house mode, meaning relaxed, mellow, music, Winter Olympics,  good food mixed with a barrel of laughter.  Em and Fred soon arrived and were followed by the wind and rain.  But we were cozy and safe.  Cozy while Neil showed me how to unleash the power of my new Surface tablet computer - thank you, thank you!

The weather for the weekend was stormy, yet we did take advantage of any sun breaks with walks on the beach and we were blessed with a sunset whose palette was a treat for the eyes and soul.   Annie showed up late Saturday afternoon and was thrilled to arrive after being buffeted by rain and wind which might have deterred a less hearty soul.

We were seven individuals sharing one cabin with one bath, one TV and one kitchen and nary a harsh word spoken other then some colorful language directed at various winter athletes and blind judges.

Annie,  Emily and Fred left on Sunday to return to their realities but the hard core beachies stayed through to Monday.  We had some very spirited forays into Hearts and Mexican Train.  Wonderful is a good word yet it comes well shy of expressing how good this weekend was for one and all.

During a break in the rain, we all braved the wind.  But Fred came out with beer and without shoes!

So glad Annie arrived safely
