I had been waiting for Beach House weekend for so long it seemed. The two weeks before were memorable only in their difficulty. Work was hard, home was hard and the weather didn't help much. I bravely did my daily 30 minute walk until I was slowed by my hip flexor. It didn't seem to want to flex and was causing pain. Yuk! By the time Friday the 16th came I was more than ready for a break.
I got home at 3:30 and J and I quickly loaded the car with all our prepacked items. Freddy, deprived of the old truck (sold at last), had to ride in the back seat of the car. Off we went, eager to smell, hear and see the ocean and join once again with friends and relatives in the like-minded seeking of relaxation and fellowship. Also games, great food, adult beverages and music. We knew as soon as we arrived that it would be a great weekend. When we first walked in, we noticed upgrades. A new shower was the major improvement. The old one was barely adequate. Also a new sink in the bathroom and amazingly, a dishwasher!! And WiFi! The weather was cool, but partly sunny and fairly windless....a miracle in February. A special shout out to Betsy and Robert for the smiles and gingerbread!
