Seems every time we plan to get away, life throws an extra large dose of stuff to get done before we can pull out of the driveway. Little stuff like new garage roof, sinus infection, a case of ick in our aquarium which was similar to the Black Plague, leaky gutters and various other issues which tried our souls and sanity. Amazingly, we got it all done and were on the road north by 5:30 P.M.
We mellowed out to a point, but with a 5:30 A.M. flight, it was barely worth going to bed. Alarms functioned, shuttle bus was on time and we found ourselves in the pipeline at 3:45. A long day of travel but we were checking in to the Krystal Hotel at 4:15 and watching an amazing sunset from our balcony at 5:00.

We are talking tropical and I do mean Tropical paradise. Nice room, great view and a staff that falls over itself to meet our every need or wish. We have our white wrist bracelets that signify that anything we want is no charge - it's fun to order off the menu without checking out the right side.
We went to La Muerdo for dinner. It is the 5 star Mexican restaurant next door which is operated by The Krystal. Dinner was amazing - each bite better then the last. Kat loved her stuffed Sea Bass with coriander sauce while my Filet Mignon lit up each and every one of my taste buds. A true dining experience. A great Mariachi band going from table to table, taking requests and rocking the house with their horn section just expanded the experience exponentially.

We then took a stroll down the next block where 5 - 6 hot nightclubs vied for every tourists attention out on the strip. A person could find anything and I do mean anything a human could desire. A bit over the top in senses overload. A wonderful day.

Friday, November 16th
We were up and strolled down for breakfast which consists of a 40 yard buffet table with every breakfast food known to mankind. Lot's of Mexican coffee, fruit, scones and everything omelets. We then headed down to the pool which looks out on a crystal blue ocean where boats sail the horizon while children romp in the surf and the sun dazzles your eyes and bakes your brain. Reading, snoozing, swimming, smoking a Cuban Cohiba and dining by the pool pretty well filled up our day.

We got ourselves cleaned up and took a stroll down another avenue filled with hotels which each trying to out do the last with opulence. We are in a area where we have water surrounding us on three sides. Watching giant pelicans soar overhead and dive for dinner was a treat for the eyes - lots of wow moments. We checked out a few sports bars where we were promised that we would be able to watch Oregon vs Stanford tomorrow - hey, I was worried I would be shut out.

We went back to the Krystal where we were given the choice of either a Seafood or Italian buffet. We chose Seafood and were not disappointed. We then went to the cocktail lounge where we shot pool while sipping coffee laced with cognac - yes, we did overindulge. The quartet tuned up and I was struck by how the lead singer resembled my best friend Rob - Mexican Robbo and crew did everything from "What a Wonderful Day" to a "Imagine" to a tribute to Eric Clapton, (my suggestion) Fun to hear Eric with a thick Spanish accent. Meanwhile, the pool area had been transformed into party central where a family had rented the area for their daughters Quincineros - (15th birthday party similar to a confirmation or Bar Mitzvah. A lot of fun watching the festivities.
A very wonderful day!!!!!!!!
